Group questions by decisions
Organise compatibility, included parts, operation, development stage and shipping preparation rather than listing questions in arrival order. If people keep asking whether a computer is required, put that answer beside the core workflow. It should not be hidden only at the bottom of a long FAQ.
Give each answer a fact owner
A product owner should check technical claims and the relevant team should confirm shipping details. Support can make an answer clearer without inventing an unconfirmed feature. Distinguish known facts, pending checks and matters that cannot yet be promised. Commercial terms need the applicable agreements, not an improvised answer.
Track versions and corrections
When an accessory or function changes, review the FAQ, page, emails and support replies together. An old answer saying a part is excluded will conflict with a new reward that includes it. Record why and when an answer changed. Correct important earlier information when it could affect a user’s decision.
Use questions to improve the main page
Count question types, not just the number of replies sent. Repeated setup questions may need a demo; repeated compatibility questions may need a checklist. Do not let an ever-longer FAQ replace a clear page. Move the answer to the most important recurring question beside the content it explains.
Put this into practice
- Group questions around product decisions.
- Assign fact checking and update owners.
- Move repeated questions into better page or demo content.
